THE BERGMAN PROJECT

Which comes first? The Music, or the Lyrics? “Lyrics are poised at the tip of the notes they suggest, waiting to be unpicked, to be chipped away.” In collaboration with her long-time musical partner Philip Fortenberry, Rebecca premiered her newest concert, THE BERGMAN PROJECT, in 2024 at The Stirling Club in Las Vegas. 
 
THE BERGMAN PROJECT explores the lyrics of Alan and Marilyn Bergman and the treasure trove of songs from the movies and elsewhere on which the Bergmans collaborated, carried along by a narrative of their history and life-long personal and professional partnership. As lyricists for film, stage and television, they have created many unforgettable images with their lyrical mastery. 
 
Theirs is one of the most successful songwriting collaborations in an era of great popular music. Among their works with many celebrated composers, the Bergmans were most recognized in Hollywood for the songs that were inspired for motion picture soundtracks. They have earned numerous awards, including 16 Academy Award nominations, multiple Emmys, Grammys, and three Oscars for "The Windmills of Your Mind," "The Way We Were," and the score for "Yentl." They are in the Songwriters Hall of Fame and received the Johnny Mercer Award as well, among other accolades.
